Meet the trustees of Delapage

Our Trustees have substantial experience in all the key disciplines required by the Charity, including legal, accounting and property related fields. Between them, they have wide ranging charity experience in various roles, including management and fund-raising, as well as holding a number of Trusteeships within communal organisations.

Solicitor, Senior Partner (retired), Fladgate LLPRichard Kaufman - Chairman

Richard has been a solicitor in private practice for more than 40 years. He has extensive experience of advising individuals, families, trusts and corporations . At the request of his clients, he has acted as a director of clients’ companies and as a trustee of both family and charitable trusts.

Richard has been active in many communal activities on a voluntary basis including serving as a school governor for many years and sitting on committees advising the local education authority.

SolicitorAllan Becker

Allan obtained his Law Degree at University College London and then obtained a distinction at the College of Law. After completing his training at DJ Freeman in the City, he has been a general practice property lawyer for over 20 years.

Allan was a school governor for many years holding the position of chair of governors in both a state aided primary school and then in a private secondary school. He is also a trustee of a number of other charities, and has been involved in a variety of community endeavours.

Director, Heywood & PartnersMichael Frenkel

Having obtained his qualification at University of Central London he started working for a small West End private practice in 1977.  This led to a move to a private surveying practice in the city where he became acquainted with the Institutional property world acting on behalf of insurance companies on some high-profile property matters.  In the mid-80s, Michael became a director of a national surveying practice and in 1992, he founded Heywood & Partners, a niche West End surveying practice.

With over 40 years of involvement in the commercial property sector at a senior level, Michael has gained experience in all areas of property and over the years has advised property companies and trusts, both UK and overseas, in how best to invest in the property sector and how to achieve maximum growth in capital values.

Accountant, Partner, Cohen ArnoldDavid Goldberg

David became a Partner at Cohen Arnold, a medium sized general practice in 1997. He has experience in many aspects of general practice and has a special interest in the non-profit sector as well as personal and corporate tax planning. David has expertise in all aspects of property investment and trading as well as in the residential and nursing home markets.

He is Compliance Partner at his firm and is a respected author.  He heads the non-profit sector in the Practice and has a general portfolio of clients and specialises in charities, including the audit of several large Jewish public interest and grant making charities.

Of particular interest, he has the specialised ICAEW charity qualification D.ChA (Diploma in Charity Accounting).

Company DirectorChagai (Guy) Kahn

Chagai grew up in London and settled in Manchester a few years after his wedding.  Whilst he works for and manages a property management company, his spare time is focussed on involvement with various charitable activities.

Chagai acts as a trustee for various charities and is involved in numerous communal projects in the fast growing Manchester orthodox Jewish community.  He is therefore well placed to advise his fellow Trustees with particular reference to potential Manchester applications.

Dayan, Federation of SynagoguesDayan Yehoshua Posen

Dayan Yehoshua Posen is a specialist in Jewish Monetary Law and has lectured extensively on subjects including Business Ethics and Charity. He has served as an Arbitrator for over 15 years as a Dayan on various Beth Din including that of the UOHC and of the Federation of Synagogues.  He is also an Accredited Commercial and Family Mediator with experience in resolving disputes, whether family, business or communal.

Dayan Posen has been active for many years on a voluntary basis in numerous charitable organisations in an advisory capacity, and was a school governor for 10 years.
